The Ashburton District Council contacted us regarding our chipping service. They had some debris at Lake Clearwater which had been created by a logging contractor who had removed dangerous trees on their behalf. They wanted the chip to be re-used in the area for a new planting scheme.

Brief:
Action:
Using our whole tree chipper and the grapple excavator we quickly chipped all the branches and remaining logs creating up to 300+m3 of wood chips that could now be used as ground cover/moisture retention on new plantings. Chipping is a far safer way of dealing with debris than burning and it also creates a reusable product that is handy in many ways.
Result:
The end result is an area that is now safe for the general public to enter and admire the views. We also turned something that was once a problem into a valuable resource.
